Bringing it all back home

1987

This film places present and future changes in Britain in an international context. Britain’s declining industrial regions are now attracting a new kind of development, only too familiar to the industrialising countries of the Developing World. As in these countries, women are in demand as the new workforce for international capital investing in Britain.  Should we take the experiences of the Developing World workers as a warning of our future prospects and learn from their challenge to this concept of “development”?
